CustomVue™ Laser Vision Correction - LASIK in the Boston, Lexington, and Concord Area

The Visx CustomVue™ procedure is the most advanced method of laser vision correction available. Offered to refractive surgery patients evaluated in our Lexington and Concord offices, CustomVue™ measures the unique features of an individual’s eye, allowing for specific excimer laser correction.

CustomVue™ Laser Vision Correction

The first step in the CustomVue™ laser vision correction procedure involves the use of WaveScan™ technology, which was originally developed to reduce and correct visual distortions in high-powered telescopes. Now used in laser vision correction, WaveScan™ technology can measure and identify imperfections in a patient’s eye 25 times more accurately than standard methods. The WaveScan™ is part of the pre-operative work-up for our patients being evaluated in Lexington and Concord.

During the CustomVue™ procedure, your treatment information taken by the WaveScan™ will be transferred to the VISX S4™ excimer laser. The laser will use the data to perform the actual LASIK procedure, correcting corneal imperfections specific to your eye. The laser portion of the laser vision correction procedure typically takes only 20 to 30 seconds, on average.

The day following CustomVue™ LASIK, most patients can function quite well. Many patients see well enough to drive.
